Lagos Edition of Talent Hunt Set for May

March 2026 · By Bovibes Press Team

Arts Factory Academy has confirmed that the Lagos leg of the Nigeria Creative Arts Talent Hunt will kick off on May 1, 2025 — Workers' Day — at Comfort Place Hall, Addo Road, Ajah, Lekki. The announcement has been met with significant excitement across secondary schools in the state, with registration requests flooding in from students across all six competition categories.

The Lagos Edition marks a pivotal moment in the Academy's mission to build a nationwide creative pipeline. As the commercial capital of Nigeria and home to the country's most vibrant entertainment industry, Lagos represents both the highest concentration of raw talent and the greatest gateway to professional opportunity. For many of the students who will take the stage in May, this competition is not just a performance — it is the beginning of a career.

What to Expect at the Event

The competition will span all six categories: Music, Dance, Visual Arts, Acting, Comedy, and Musical Instruments. Each category will feature dedicated judging panels made up of industry professionals, creative educators, and representatives from Bovibes Group's entertainment and media arms. Students will be evaluated on technical skill, stage presence, originality, and creative expression.

Category winners will not only receive trophies and recognition — they will be enrolled in the exclusive Bovibes Youth Creative Club, receive educational grants, and gain access to professional training workshops and industry mentorship. The best performers will advance to the National Talent Hunt finals, where they will compete against winners from across all 36 states for the title of Nigeria's foremost young creative talent.

Open to All Secondary Schools in Lagos

Registration is free and open to all secondary school students currently enrolled in Lagos State. Schools can register as institutions, or individual students can register directly through the Arts Factory Academy website. The Academy's team has also been conducting outreach visits to secondary schools across Lagos Island, the Mainland, and the Lekki-Ajah corridor to ensure no talented student is left behind due to lack of awareness.

"Every child born in Nigeria carries a creative spark," said Ibe Boco, Founder and CEO of Bovibes Group. "Our job is to make that spark a flame — and the Lagos Edition is where we begin turning sparks into wildfires. We want the best young talent in this state on that stage in May."

Part of a Bigger Movement

The Lagos Edition is one stop on a nationwide journey. Arts Factory Academy operates across all 36 states and the FCT, running state-level competitions that feed into the national grand finale. The programme is designed not merely as a talent show, but as a structured pathway — from discovery in the classroom, to training, to professional launch.

For brands, corporations, and government agencies, the Lagos Edition also represents a unique CSR and partnership opportunity — a chance to visibly invest in Nigeria's creative economy and the next generation of its cultural leaders. Sponsorship tiers and partnership packages are available on the Arts Factory website.

Registration closes April 20. Don't miss your chance to be part of Nigeria's most ambitious creative arts platform.
